| In Toyz is a relatively new company and has recently introduced its first wave in a new line of 1/6th scaled accessories (and figures soon later). Among this first wave is their interpretation of the PSG-1 sniper rifle.
As you can see from the pictures, the rifle outdoes the Ultimate Soldier PSG-1 in several ways. First, the safety switch is an actual switch and is not part of the mold as is the case with The Ultimate Soldier (TUS) incarnation. Plus there are markings for safe fire and ready fire. Secondly, this rifle has a spring-loaded bolt lever thing. It can be pulled back and "locked" into position. Thirdly, the rifle comes with its own stand that slides into a groove at the front of the rifle. The stand can be folded up when not in use. The In Toyz PSG-1 also has clear plastic lenses on its scope unlike the TUS rifle which has no lenses whatsoever.
Now just because the In Toyz version has all of these nice features and details doesn't mean that the TUS version isn't good. There are actually a few things I like better on the TUS rifle such as the wood grain grip and removeable grip adjuster. Also of note are the differences between the removeable clips. The In Toyz one is about 2/3 the size of the TUS one even though the rifles are about the same size. Also, the In Toyz clip is surprisingly lacking in detail and looks rather pathetic when compared to the TUS version which just looks more accurate. And no, you can't just switch the clips since the TUS version is too thick for the In Toyz rifle.
Even despite these minor shortcomings, the In Toyz rifle gets my nod for the overall better package if you're looking for the ultimate 1/6th scale PSG-1 not only because of its features and crazy detail, but because of the accessories that come with it. You get an extra clip, five extra bullets, five spent shells (which is very cool for photos), the stand, and a very nice foam-padded case to put it all in. The only problem is that there isn't really a place to put the spent shells but I guess you can store them in the space where you put the stand.
Well, there you have it--a great product from a very promising company. Highly recommended if you are in need of a cool sniper rifle. The set cost me about $11.00 which isn't too bad considering the quality of the set. In the end, you can't go wrong with either PSG-1.
